The 80/20 Texting Rule

I used to initiate every conversation. Every. Single. One. Until I realized I had no idea if he actually wanted to talk to me or was just being polite.

We agreed on an informal 80/20 rule: I initiate 80% of the time, he initiates 20%. It doesn't sound like much, but that 20% changed everything. When he sent the first message, I knew he was thinking of me. It made me feel wanted.

If you're always the one texting first, pull back slightly. Give them space to reach out. If they care, they will. And if they don't, you have your answer without a painful conversation.

A relationship where only one person initiates is not a relationship — it's an interview.
